If you’re interested in trying out for The Lion & The Sail, you can email us at thelionandthesail@gmail.com and give us some information about yourself. In addition to personal information, be sure to include your name, age, telephone number, where you live, schedule flexibility and list your current gear set-up. Feel free to attach samples of your previous work or a link to a video of you playing.

We have a pretty good idea of what we need and want, both stylistically and in regard to lifestyle. We need a new bass player as well as an electric guitarist. If you have any friends who you think might be a good fit, you can have them e-mail us with the information listed above.

Ahoy, there mateys! Get it? No? Okay. Anyway.

We’re about a month into working on the record and it’s coming along swimmingly. (Okay, okay, no more water/ship jokes. I’ll try. I know they’re bad.) But really. We’re really happy with the songs we have so far. I’d say we have roughly 14-15 songs on our list so far. We want at least twice that to choose from for the record’s set.

We’ve been working out in the country, hidden away from any distractions. Well, except for an in-ground trampoline that’s in walking distance. Possible videos of that later.

We don’t want to give too many details away at this point, but just wanted to let you all know that we’re staying busy. Very much so. In fact, we even made some time for a show or two coming up. September 17th, in Tyler @ The Spot, we’ll be headlining a show with Quiet Company, Winter Wallace and some really good friends of mine, Feet Of Goliath (they are AMAZING, please check them out immediately).

The record title is set, as we’ve previously mentioned. We’ll start work on album art relatively soon, I imagine.

So we’re home from tour. We actually got home Monday, but it’s been a busy week for most of us: family, friends, work, sleep, fun, writing… and all any of us can say is that it feels weird to be home and we want to be back out there.

We were so blessed to have been able to do this tour with Eisley and Christie. We couldn’t have hoped or asked for a better first tour. Everyone was so amazing and we met so many incredible and wonderful people. Every city was unique and fantastic. Seriously, thank you all so much if you bought any of our merch, came and talked to us, or even just came to a show. You enhanced our lives in a beautiful way.

So what does being home mean for us? Back to the labor-a-tory, Dexter. No, seriously. We’ve already started working on our full-length. Workaholics? Maybe… If you’ve been to any recent shows (tour included), you will have heard two of the songs that will be on it: “I Won’t Lose You” and “What’s In Your Heart?” So yes, people-who-shall-remain-nameless-that-have-yelled-at-us-(Kirsten, specifically)-for-not-having-those-recorded-yet, they will be on there. (; You know who you are, silly kitties.

We’re really excited about starting work on this record. We’ve already been putting a lot of thought into it, even before we recorded Things To Say. We have the name picked out and already have started discussing album art. There are a select handful of songs we’ve been crafting prior to the tour and we will be writing several new ones as well.

That being said, we’re not sure when this little magical treat will be ready for your eyes and ears. We’re going to take our time and make sure we have the best possible first record that we can give you. That means no rushing. Sorry. ):

However, we’ll be keeping you updated with what we’re doing. Lots of blog posts, facebook/twitter updates, videos, and other things we’ll come up with. We want to stay in touch with you so we can hang out again. Or for the first time.

about to be seeing lots of this becauuuuse… tour starts in a week! AND “secret” practice show on Friday @ Brewtones! all the proceeds of the door are going to Eisley because, bless their hearts, their transmission on their van went out…so come come come! we’re getting really excited. we have a major practice tonight and throughout the week (continuing into the weekend and next week), just tweaking last minute stuff.

we have officially ordered new shirts that our own Austin & Juno designed so I’m pretty excited to see what those look like. and they’re super limited edition too, which is pretty bonkers! tour special? maybe.

anyway, i’m gonna wrap this up and go get the new Rooney record because it’s freaking sick. and i have to clean my room because i need to have clean clothes for tour and my clothes are ALLLLL over the place.

DENTON SHOW!

Finally. That wasn’t enough…let me say it again. FINALLY. We’ve been waiting to play in Denton for…forever. We love Denton. Everyone I’ve ever met there is super nice and crazy friendly/hospitable. We were going to play there earlier this month but the promoter/venue fell through, but eh. C’est la vie.

Anyway. We’re totally stoked. We’re gonna open for our friends Hennessey who are releasing their EP finally. We’re so happy to open for them because they opened for us for our EP release. And they’re releasing it exactly four months after we did? I feel like it’s a yin/yang situation. Balanced. (;

It’s gonna be at this really cool place downtown on the square that’s like a fine arts theatre/chapel. I think it’s called Calvary church? Yes. Yes, it is. Wanna come? Here’s the address:
